2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Authentication Tokens: We use JWT (JSON Web Tokens) to maintain your login session securely.
  • Usage Data: We record timestamps when content is created or modified, and track word generation counts for subscription management.
  • Cached Analysis Data: We cache word analysis results to improve performance and reduce API costs.
  • Subscription Status: We track your subscription tier (Free, Premium, or Premium Plus) and subscription end dates.

2.3 What We Don't Collect

  • We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services.
  • We do not collect browsing behavior or usage patterns beyond what is necessary for service functionality.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes (only for authentication and session management).
  • We do not store your payment card details (handled securely by Stripe).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain your account and subscription
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your login sessions
  • To analyze text, images, PDFs, audio, and video files for vocabulary extraction and language learning
  • To provide real-time speech-to-text transcription
  • To generate text-to-speech audio for pronunciation practice
  • To store and synchronize your saved words and flashcards across devices
  • To manage subscription limits and track usage for premium features
  • To process payments for premium subscriptions

4.1 Where Your Data is Stored

  • User Data and Content: Stored in our secure database (PostgreSQL) hosted on our backend infrastructure.
  • Authentication: Managed through Google OAuth and JWT tokens stored securely in your browser.
  • File Processing: Uploaded files (images, PDFs, audio, video) are processed temporarily for analysis and are not stored long-term unless you explicitly save the extracted content.
  • Session Data: Stored locally in your browser using secure, HTTP-only cookies.

  • Your content is isolated and only accessible with proper authentication

  • Payment information is handled securely by Stripe and never stored on our servers

  • Modification: You can edit, update, or delete your saved words and content at any time.

  • Deletion: You can delete any content at any time through the application interface.
  • Subscription Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

5.2 Data Retention

  • Uploaded files: Files uploaded for analysis are processed and deleted immediately after processing, unless you save the extracted content.
  • Cached data: Cached word analysis may be retained to improve service performance but does not contain personal information.

7. AI Processing and Data Usage

Our service uses AI to analyze your content:

  • Text Analysis: Your text is sent to Google Gemini AI for vocabulary extraction, language detection, and grammatical analysis.
  • Media Processing: Images, PDFs, audio, and video files you upload are processed by Google Gemini AI for content extraction and transcription.
  • Speech Recognition: Your audio input is processed by ElevenLabs Scribe for real-time transcription.
  • Text-to-Speech: Text is sent to ElevenLabs (for Premium Plus users) or processed locally using browser Web Speech API for pronunciation.
  • AI-processed content is used solely to provide language learning features and is not used to train AI models.

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is intended for use by educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this service.
